Code of Conduct

At SearchMeetings.Com we believe in Professionalism, inclusivity, kindness, and a positive community for all. It’s important to educate ourselves about the Do’s and Don’ts in a video meeting. This video conferencing Code of Conduct will help ensure that each meeting is productive, and all participants are treated with courtesy


We expect participants of SearchMeetings.Com to always conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner. This means: BEFORE THE MEETING


Do:

  • Attend on time, test your equipment prior to the meeting.
  • Make sure your camera is properly positioned on a stable surface and focused at eye level.
  • Do wear appropriate clothing.
  • Use welcoming and positive language.
  • Respect others’ views whether they do/don’t align with yours.
  • Display empathy towards other parties and staff members.
  • Be respectful of others in all discussions and conversations.

Don't:

  • Don’t delay the meeting start by not being prepared with the right equipment and computer settings.
  • Don’t position your camera too low, too high or pointed somewhere else in the room.
  • Don’t sit in a dark room or with a bright light/ window immediately behind you, otherwise you will be hard to see.
  • Don’t wear clothing for the gym or the beach, your pyjamas, or minimal/no clothing!
  • Don’t have anything distracting, untidy or offensive in view of the camera (e.g. pile of laundry, stack of dirty dishes).
  • Don’t read your emails, check your phone, eat your lunch or do other tasks not related to the meeting. Remember that everyone can see you.
  • Make personal or political attacks.
  • Harass another person, whether publicly or privately.
  • Use sexualized language or make nonconsensual sexual / nonsexual advances.
  • Use another person's property whether physical or electronic, without their permission.
  • Do any other actions that can be interpreted as inappropriate in a professional setting.
  • Do not take or share screenshots of meetings in social media or and media, without agreement from all parties.

The recording or transmissions of any meetings, sessions, presentations, demos, videos, or content in any format is strictly prohibited without the consent of both parties.


NOTE: For any birch of code of conduct, Access permission and consent can be revoked at any given time. Once it has been revoked, it is no longer acceptable to continue a certain act, conversation or interaction with all involved parties who no longer wish to take part. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact the organizers immediately at info@searchmeetings.com
